Cinnamon Shore Draws Alys Beach Executive Home

Shane Campbell to Lead Construction & Development

This executive hire strengthens the community’s position in the luxury real estate sector and signals promising future growth.

Since its inception in 2007, the New Urban community of Cinnamon Shore has elevated design standards and the beach experience on the Texas Coast. Now, Shane Campbell from the luxury, Florida community Alys Beach has joined the Port Aransas development full-time as Vice President of Construction and Development.

“Shane will help us fulfill the promise we made to build an authentic seaside village with a vibrant coastal lifestyle rich with resort-like amenities, walkable streets, and noteworthy, disciplined design,” says Developer Jeff Lamkin of Sea Oats Group. “Cinnamon Shore will benefit from Shane’s experience and stature in the industry, and we believe that his enthusiasm about coming onboard testifies to the quality of our community and to the direction it’s going.”

A Texas native and Texas Tech University grad with more than 27 years of industry experience, Campbell will work closely with General Manager of Development Daniel Mazoch to ensure that Cinnamon Shore continues to meet the highest standards. Mazoch has led development since 2017, guiding the community through the successful launch and swift growth of an expansion at Cinnamon Shore South. With Campbell’s addition, the team will see an increase in the capacity for development and construction and find new ways to use its strong, internal capabilities.

Immediate projects include the build-out of neighborhood town centers at Cinnamon Shore North and Cinnamon Shore South, as Campbell and Mazoch plan for future development on the Gulf-front and bayside of Mustang Island, the narrow, barrier isle near Corpus Christi, Texas, where Cinnamon Shore is based.

“I loved my time on the Florida Gulf Coast, but I’m a Texan at heart, and it’s great to find a community in the Lone Star State that has such a thoughtful master plan to help execute and continue to shape,” Campbell says, pointing to a long list of coming amenities. “We’re implementing plans for South Town Square, new pools, fitness centers, an event pavilion, future dining and retail, and more—all prized elements to enhance the Cinnamon Shore experience.”

Campbell remains on the advisory board at Alys Beach, signifying alignment with the values and goals for such master-planned, coastal communities.

“Longtime developers across the Gulf Coast have started to take notice of what we’re doing here in Texas,” says Lamkin, who envisioned Cinnamon Shore as a Texas outpost for New Urbanism. The movement prizes classic American neighborhood design, with broad streets, friendly front porches, walkable sidewalks, and accessible green spaces.

Now thriving with more than 250 residences on charming coastal streets, Cinnamon Shore has given families and real estate investors an alternative beyond dense, Northwest Florida destinations such as Destin, Panama City, and the renowned towns of Seaside, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor and Alys Beach on Scenic Highway 30A. From the start, Lamkin hired 30A resident Mark Schnell of Schnell Urban Design to draw the master plan for Cinnamon Shore, relying on Schnell’s understanding of the elements that made those hallmark, 30A communities so attractive.

Campbell shares that understanding after working for years at Alys Beach. “Shane brings a wealth of knowledge and construction management experience to our team,” says Keith Minick, chief of staff at Cinnamon Shore for Sea Oats Group. “Jeff Lamkin saw that Texas could benefit from a new approach to coastal development, and now that Cinnamon Shore is flourishing and growing, we’re thrilled to have attracted one of 30A’s most accomplished development professionals.”
